Friday, Nick Cannon revealed the birth of his ninth kid, his third with model Brittany Bell.
The actor and producer announced their new family member on his Instagram story. He added, "WELCOME RISE MESSIAH CANNON 9/23/2022."
Golden "Sagon" Cannon was born to Cannon and Bell in February 2017. In December 2020, their daughter, Powerful Queen Cannon, was born.
Cannon also posted a video of the "blessingway" he and Bell held to commemorate their upcoming arrival on Instagram on Friday. She introduced him to the concept of the event in which "strong prayer warriors" pray on behalf of the family.
According to The Birth Hour, a "blessingway" is a celebration of pregnancy and motherhood that differs from a baby shower in that it focuses more on the mother than on the child.
"One More Blessing!!! In the caption, he said, "As my experience on this earth gets increasingly spectacular and incomprehensible, all I can do is thank God."
In addition to the three children he has with Bell, Cannon has six additional children with four other women. He shares 11-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey; 1-year-old twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir with DJ Abby De La Rosa; 6-week-old son Legendary Love with "Selling Sunset" singer Bre Tiesi; and September 14-born Onyx Ice Cole Cannon with Lanisha Cole.
Cannon also had a son with Alyssa Scott, named Zen. Zen died with brain cancer at the age of five months in 2021, which prompted Cannon to establish a foundation for paediatric healthcare.
In his Friday Instagram post, Cannon acknowledged critics of his blended family who may find their arrangement incomprehensible.
"He has granted me leadership and authority over a family dynamic that is incomprehensible to others." Moreover, he has provided me with kind individuals to guide me through this meaningful existence," he concluded.
Cannon lauded Bell's impact on his life, describing her as "the rock and basis of my Fatherhood journey."
He stated of Bell, "She has taught me so much about parenthood, psychology, spirituality, love, and simply life."
